Virara

The village of Virara is situated two kilometres east of Khuntapuri and around three kilometres from Kedaranatha. While returning from Sri Kedaranatha I decided to pay my obeisance’s to this holy place. It’s a very simple village with a small temple.

One day Sri Krishna performed the Rasa with 16,000 gopis. After the Rasa, the sakhis, thinking Sri Krishna to be tired, made a bed of flowers here for Him and made Him take rest here (Virama = Visrama = rest). The village was named Virara after the word virama (rest).

How to get there: You can go by taxi from Vrindavana.
